Company Overview
In 1947, Golden State Foods began by providing meat to local restaurants and hotels in Southern California. Over the years, gsf evolved from supplying just meat into providing liquid products and distribution services. Today, more than 60 years later, gsf is a global player in the food processing and distribution industries. Golden State Foods services more than 20,000 restaurants for dozens of customers in more than 50 countries on six continents.
gsf, in partnership with Taylor Fresh Farms, the largest supplier of produce to the food service industry in North America, commenced operation in Australia with the initial purchase of the Ewen Marketing in 1994. The Australian business subsequently acquired the manufacturing facility of the YUM! Commissary in 1998 and consolidated all east coast operations there that year.
Today, gsf is a true trans-Tasman supplier to the majority of QSR's including, McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, Dominos and Subway. In September 2008 the Golden State Foods/Taylor Fresh Farms partnership acquired a major fresh produce supplier in New Zealand, extending the reach of the business for Australian-based customers operating in that market. gsf Australasia has also acted as an international contingency supplier to our major customers, exporting to the Asia Pacific region and as far as to Dubai and Spain.
gsf Australasia also supply green leaf salads in bowls and bags, and wet salads, to supermarket chains in both Australia and New Zealand.
